We changed the size of the tubing on the engine cage. A peak at the color.

A little more progress. The rear fenders and doors are painted in gloss black basecoat and wheel is painted.

Replacing the stock transmission with a modern top loader isn't an option. See, all the Ford trucks from 1953 to 1957 used a bracket to mate the clutch assy on the side of the transmission case . Since I don't want to modify my truck from original , I prefer to simply find replacement pieces .
On to the "Checkerboard fenders , won't these kind of clash with the flames on the front ? What plans do you have for the cab ? Will you continue with that pattern there as well ?

We are going to put a very small flame on the side of the cab, but all matte black.

Working on these emblems, trying to get a crisp finish on them. We de-chromed and primed and painted the red in the lower section then painted the aluminum on the raised areas. Not as pleased so will try painting the aluminum first then the red. Red first Then aluminum...any other ideas?

Actually these emblems looked this way at a short distance of say two feet . Die cast chrome just doesn't hit ya the way a piece of Stainless will. Course this is only my opinion. I think it really looks very realistic.
