We agree scrubba, dont know why we havent tried de-chroming before. Here are the emblems, not sure if we can do any better than this.

The only suggestion I can offer is a "Black wash" on the "Ribbed " portions of the emblem. Some of the reproduction pieces I've seen have that. Since I have a 53, they are a lot more plain ..............

We might need to remove the inner fenders, we cant push the tires in enough to tuck under the outer fenders to have the one piece front close properly. Also, the timing chain cover has a gap in it that is going to need to be fixed where it attaches to the block.

You might wish to put a rag over top of the intake manifold . You don't want plastic crud seeping into the cylinder bores !

The checkerboard pattern? Cut the pattern out of masking tape and attached each square.
